Hi, I'm Mikail.
Hello, I’m Mikail, a counsellor in training here at IASH.SG.
Life has a way of throwing curveballs at us. Sometimes we find ourselves stuck, confused or perhaps a little overwhelmed. We all could use a little support to get us through difficult times in our lives.
I see a counsellor as someone that tries to see the world through your eyes, to grasp what it is like to be you. To understand and emphasize with all the nuances and complexities of your lived experience. We can then walk your path together. And I could shine a light at places that you overlooked or even help you discover a new course. Or perhaps you just need company along the way. An ally that makes journey less lonely.

Why speak to me?

Everyone that steps into the counselling room is a unique and distinct individual with their own story to tell. I extend a safe space for you to speak about anything that is on your mind. A safe space is a place where there is no judgement and a place where confidentiality is upheld.
I utilise both a person-centred approach and a solution-focused approach in my sessions. Depending on your needs, I will tailor the techniques that best suit your situation.
Having been to counselling myself and I know what it is like to try and seek help. It can be uncomfortable and even a bit scary taking the first step. I hope that you have the courage to give yourself the chance to start a conversation and I look forward to meeting you.

A little more about me

I have been a rock climbing coach for kids and I currently part time as a fencing instructor. Sports and outdoor pursuits have always been a passion of mine. I strongly believe in the power and value of pursuing sports at any age.
